Room To Grow
One quiet starry summer night, a little
girl put on her snugly purple pj's, got tucked into her snugly bed,
and went to sleep in her snugly room.
Each night the little girl grew, as
little girls always do. Parents know a lot about that.
One night she got cold and asked for a
bigger blanket. “Thanks mommy” she said, and went right to
sleep.
Then next night her head just didn't
feel right, so she asked for a bigger pillow. “Thanks daddy,”
she said and went right to sleep.
With each passing day her parents
watched patiently to see what new challenge each bedtime would bring.
One night the little girl called out
“MOM! My pj's have shrunk!”
Her mom and dad took one look and
giggled with delight. “A new bigger pair of pj's is what you'll
need,” they said.
As time went on, as time always does,
the little girl got new bigger clothes. She got new bigger shoes.
She even got a few new big girl teeth she made sure to brush
extra clean before bed.
Then, one particularly quiet starry
night it finally happened. As she was being tucked in by her
parents, as she always was, she uttered the one thing they weren't
prepared to hear just yet. “My bed is too small,” she said with
a frown. So, her mommy and her daddy did the only thing they could
think to do...
Good night little girl.
