“Bzzz-zzz-zz-z,”
cried a strange voice. “Who's there?” asked Jemie. “I'm
Bumble,” said a bee. “I'm sad because my brother is so popular!”
Jemie listened closely. “He stung someone and lived to tell about
it, now everyone's forgotten about me! I'm all alone.” “That's
terrible!” exclaimed Jemie, “But you are not alone. You can
follow me through the park and help me pick some special flowers.”
“Special?” asked Bumble. “What do you mean?” Jemie
explained all about Valentines Day and how we give something special
like flowers or candy to those we love. Bumble was so thrilled to be
invited along to help that he forgot all about his troubles. Bees
know all about flowers, so he felt especially helpful. Along the way
he recommended the most beautiful blooms and buzzed the catchiest
tunes. Jemie and Bumble laughed and buzzed all afternoon. Bumble
taught Jemie lots about flowers, and Jemie taught Bumble lots about
friendship. “A true friend is the one who knows just how Super you
really are.” Jemie said.
